Shirin Jabalameli (b. 1967, Tehran) is an Iranian painter, writer, and translator. With a background in Political Science and nearly three decades of artistic experience, she is the founder of Apranikism—a bold visual language rooted in improvisation, mythology, and creative resistance
She has created over 1,200 works in this style, published the book Apranik in 2023, and exhibited internationally in countries such as Switzerland, the U.S., Italy, and Iran. Jabalameli’s practice spans painting, literature, and photography, and she has received multiple awards from the Luxembourg Museum of Art
